Lovely boutique hotel! Nice atmosphere if you love colonial feeling with rice field and neat decoration. Every corner of the hotel got the stories and it's right by PING river. You can feel traditional Thai way. Room is lovely and brandnew. Hotel service is awesome and staffs are very friendly to answer your queries and show you around. Recommended!
Peace and tranquil setting The wake up in the morning with the chirping of birds and the smell of wood fire. The evening starts of with the sudden change of role playing. The sound of the birds aresubstituted with night creatur Very relaxing and enjoyable. This place is for people that need to connect with nature and appreciate the sounds and music of its inhabitants - drumming sounds from Buddhist temples, croaking of frogs and chirping of birds, etc.
“Stay here now before everyone finds it!” From the moment we arrived at Chiang Mai Airport to the moment we we dropped off again, our entire stay at Marndadee was perfect. A boutique, quiet, well appointed resort, offering great value and very good service. We stayed in a Rice Villa, which was extremely well renovated, offering a room which if it was owned by a larger hotel group would easily cost 5 times more than the current price. Marndadee is only a 20 minute taxi ride from the city but still far enough away to give it a feel of being out in the countryside. Mar fade has only been open since mid November 2013. And you can tell. Everything still has the new feel and is unspoilt. My advice would be to stay here sooner rather than later before the honeymooners find out it's here!
“SD” I am so impresses with the service quality of the hotel staff. They are all have a good sense of service. Excellent , good service , friendly staff, good breakfast , beautiful scenery by the Ping river, clean room with good quality amenities.
“Stunning!” We have stayed in this hotel as part of our honeymoon in February 2014 and we really loved our stay here! We booked one of the rice barns and it is amazing how much eye for detail this hotel has. From the bathroom products, the bathtub, the door key, the teak floors to the organic food in the restaurant - it was beautiful. Location wise, yes it is a 20 min drive from the city center, but you stay in the middle of the locals, next to the river where you see fishermen passing by and next to rice fields that you can explore by bike. It really is something different. The service is perfect, very friendly and open to help. We booked a trip to visit Doi Suthep temple with the hotel and that was great and went smoothly. We even used the pool which has a view on the river and is salt water. This is an amazing experience if you want to get out of Chiang Mai and stay in an authentic, luxurious and beautiful place!
“Absolute Heaven on Earth!” Stayed February 2015 Totally happy with our stay, 200% satisfied with the hospitality and service! Would recommend it to anyone seeking some peace and quietness for their holiday. Wonderful hotel activities also, paddy field, handicraft, culinary art etc. Perfect !
Perfect resort of a perfect getaway” On the way to the resort we were wondering whether we made the right choice and is the place too far from the city and worth the drive. But all doubts disappeared when we arrived. Every single one of 15 of us just fell in love with the place. The service, the room and the staff were first class. We wish we spent more time enjoying the resort now. Definitely going back to Marnmadee sometime in he bear future.
“Lovely resort” A glimpse of unique experience of northern countryside in an exquisite and extraordinary little village resort by the river with super warm welcome from the host n' staffs. Good location, asks staff for shortcut to the city, very pleasant stay, love to return.
“It is awesome.” All is incredible. Theme, story, decoration, people, foods, art and buildings are totally amazing. You must come to see by your own eyes. It is a real heaven on earth. Not so far from down town and near airport.
“Charming retreat” I stay at this hotel from May 15 through 17th. It was a pleasant get away especially for antique/art lovers like myself. Each room of the hotel was carefully designed to allow the owners' personal collections to deliver the ambiance of Thai/Neo-colonial. There was no square meter that doesn't have details with their on stories to tell. Not your typical luxury spa resort, but a place for a slow stay. I would definitely go back with some watercolor and canvas to sit on the wooden deck by the river. Rooms and services are excellent, with shuttle to downtown. Excellent internet connections!
A perfect little getaway outside the centre of Chiang Mai. We were a family of 4 staying in one of the Sino Colonial rooms and we loved it. Pro's - A beautiful environment. The rooms are full of character and the rice paddies outside the room were charming - Wonderful service. The staff there were fantastic - kind and always willing to give advice on where to go and what to do - Nice pool. It's not huge but the hotel only has a few rooms so it was never crowded. Both my daughters loved it especially at night when the whole pool lights up. Advice Next time I'd shell out a bit extra and go for one of the rice barn villas. They looked stunning.
Environmental good a resort Hotel condition, staff service, room comfort Village inside the environment is very good, do not need to go out to be able to play all day, it is suitable to vacation with children. Is somewhat far away from the Old Town (about 40 minutes by car), can only be called Taxi out. Some inconvenient.
We are very satisfied with the stay in Marndadee Heritage River Village. We stay one day there and we hope we can have longer stay. The hotel focuses on the details of all decorations and furniture. We stay in the standard Rice Barn villa in which the total area is not big enough after placing a big sleeping bed in the room. The bath room and toilet is very spacious and comfortable. I will stay in a bigger rice barn villa if I will come to Chaing Mai in the future. Posted Jul 04, 2014 on Hotels.com
Beautifully designed antique furniture rooms The room was very nicely decorated! All antique furniture collection pieces ... really different! Very well done. The surroundings, right on the river, very beautiful ... Beautiful, special, kinda hide away place! The rooms are very tastefully decorated, all with antique furniture pieces, each room differently. Not too spacious, but very original and homy! Best go there now, they just opened up, the prices are great for what is offered ... this is promising to grow into a very special kind of resort. Situated right at the river in Chiang Mai, away from all the hustle and bustle of this town ... still not too far away ... very good place. We will definitely come back here during our next visit in the area. Great place ... go and see for yourself!
Peaceful, Relaxing home away from home Quiet Location, Great design and decoration, really nice room It was a perfect choice to get away from the chaos of the city life after spending a few nights right down town of Chiang Mai. We got to have two peaceful and relaxing nights at Marndadee. The hotel is small but has a very beautiful landscape. The staff is nice and the restaurant serves pretty good quality and delicious food. They have good wine with really reasonable price. We love our rice barn villa. The room is so beautiful and furnished with all cool antiques furnitures and decorations. I would go back there again when I am back to Chiang Mai!!!!
A place to be Kind staffs, good foods and the beautifiul rooms At first, I and my wife decided to stay for three nights as we were not sure of the location (a little bit off from the old city). We ended up coming back to the place (after spending a few days at the 'busy' old city) and stayed another 6 night. In the first visit, I stayed at the cino colonial and found the room beautiful and enough satisfying. In the second visit, I tried the rice barn, slightly more expensive but worth the extra. I and my wife loved every bits of the place. The staffs were all very kind. The foods at the restaurant were top-rated. If you don't mind staying a little bit away from the old city and be willing to enjoy the sereneness of Chiang Mai, I guess this would be the place where you should be.
Enjoy a fascinating Ping River view while dining on the terrace or in an air-conditioned room, selecting fine specialties prepared by our experienced chefs.
Works by renowned artists are exhibited in our art gallery, creating a pleasant aesthetic environment where guests can also purchase paintings they particularly like.
